Welcome back! I'm really glad you decided to continue on with my GIU week! My two creations for today are similar in style. I saw a card use similar colors last year and I just had to see if I liked them as much when I tried to use them. The cards I initially saw were much prettier but these weren't too bad (I can't remember who was the original card maker who used these colors together)! Both cards use Wish with Your Heart.
The bottom card was stamped on plain white card stock, which doesn't lend itself well to using distress inks on. I'm having an issue with the glue not keeping the card stock laying flat on the card. Leave a comment with any suggestions (other than completing starting over and using the right type of paper).
Thanks for the comments!
Very pretty cards. Growing up I used to love to find those and blow on them. When I had my daughter Bridget (who will be 21 in January) I would show her them and we would blow on them. Whenever we went out if she saw one she wanted to pull it out of the ground and either have me blow on it or her and would proceed to laugh. This stamp and card reminded me of that and made me smile. I think I will have to find this stamp now :). Dreams can blow in the wind.
ReplyDeleteoh what a wonderful set of stamps and your cards are lovely!! the bokeh affect of the 2nd card is great!!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!
ReplyDeleteWow, those are seriously gorgeous. I love the effect.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! Love the backgrounds you've created! I use Tombow Stamp Runner adhesive on most of my cards, it seems to hold well for me. http://tombowusa.com/sale/new-stamp-runner-permanent-adhesive.html
ReplyDeleteIf I am using heavier cardstock or water color paper then I used Scor-tape or my Tombow Power Bond tape runner. Hopefully this helps, I know how aggravating it is when your image panel keeps coming up from your card base!
Stunning cards. Thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteThe water color base on this is beautiful. The flower you used is so perfect!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards; love water color BG's.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards--love the backgrounds. Have you tried putting a heavy book on the card. Usually I use double stick tape and use a lot if my panel is not flat.
ReplyDeleteSuper cards, I love the dandelion stamps!
ReplyDeleteLove the water splats! Such pretty cards!!
ReplyDeleteLove the dandelions, the second card is my favorite, I love the water spots and i couldn't agree more the colors are great together.

ReplyDeleteLove the inked background and stamp set. Did you try 3m foam tape. You have to almost cover the whole back of the card but, it works wonders.

ReplyDeleteVery pretty colours. Try warming them with the heat gun and then putting it under some heavy books or running it into the bigshot or similar to flatten the panel. Hugz
ReplyDeleteAmazing cards,so sweet,elegant and beautiful.Love them both!
ReplyDeleteI am just seeing this now. I love the background. How do you do that with the distressed ink pads?
