Unity Stamp Company Challenge

I've never entered one of these challenges before (that I remember anyway!) but I figured there is no time like the present.  I actually ordered and received my sentiment kit in time, so I got down to business.

I used the sketch as inspiration for my card.  The sentiment and background snowflakes are from the December sentiment kit (love this kit btw!).    I debossed (on accident, I meant to emboss) some glitter card stock.  The background snowflakes are stamped in shimmery versamark ink.  Simple but effective I hope!  Thanks for stopping by!

FWF 10/3/14

Look at me!  Another week that I'm actually going to participate in FWF!  Super exciting for me!  And, last week, I won a prize (which I got in the mail today!).  Life has been good!

My card for this week includes a stamp from Empowered Words.  I had never used this stamp before but I was super excited to be able to find a reason to use this set!  My close friend has been through a  lot lately and I wanted to make her a card.  This one is for her.

I also entered it into a sketch challenge on a Facebook group I belong to (Crafty Challenges, come check us out!).  Here's the sketch:

I used designer paper from a set that I have had around for a while and paired it with pink cardstock.  Here's the card I came up with:
Thanks for stopping by!!

Edited to add:  Here is the prize I won last week from FWF!  I am amazed that I don't think I already own a single one of these stamps!  So exciting!!  (Sorry for the crappy picture!)

FWF 9/26/2014

Thanks for stopping by to check out my blog!  I always appreciate the lovely comments.  Without further ado, here's my FWF for the week!

I got the gelato bug from all the Faber Castell love from last week!  I had to immediately go out and buy some! The sentiment is from May Hope Sustain You (Sentiment kit from March 2014).

I originally hated the way I had done the background.  It seemed too "straight".  Not enough flow.  I kept playing with it and playing with it.  The watercolor paper started to pill I had played too much!  So, I had to get a little creative when it came to how to fix it.  I might still add an embellishment or two, but I'm much happier with how this card shaped up.

Thanks for stopping by!

FWF 9/19/2014

It's been FAR FAR FAR too long since I've participated...  I am ashamed at how long it's been.  Since I had a little extra time this evening, I thought I would share a card that I recently made!

The feather stamp came from the July KOM.  I'm pretty sure the "just for you" stamp is also a Unity KOM, but heaven's knows which one!  I tried looking for it, to no avail. EDIT: "just for you" comes from the April 2014 KOM.

Anyway, I created this card by spraying some inks onto a flexible cutting mat (bought at Ikea, love using these for my inks!).  I then inked up my stamp and applied it to the cardstock.  I was going to try to create a background with the "leftover" ink, but by the time I inked my stamp 3 times, the leftover was all brown and no longer pretty.

Thanks for stopping by!

FWF 2/7/14

Wow, these Fridays have all come and gone quickly!  My goal this year was to be more involved with FWF but I just haven't ever had the time to post!!  Here's to getting back on track...

This card was made with the January KOM, Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful.  I absolutely love this set, I can't wait to use it more!!

I used an embossing resist technique and added some colors from Tim Holtz.  Gotta love all the beautiful colors he comes out with.  Added a little bit of bling in the corner.  Thanks for stopping by!!

OWH Sketch Challenge #206

I decided to try to use more sketches in my card making, to liven things up a little bit.  I discovered a sketch challenge on Operation Write Home and decided to try it out.  Here's what I came up with.

I also made this card entirely out of scraps.  It's a new year's resolution of mine to try as use up as much stuff this year before I allow myself to buy more.  I see myself using a lot more scraps to make similar cards.  This was super easy and I like the way it turned out!  Thanks for looking!

If kisses were like snowflakes...

I'd send you a blizzard!  Brrrr!!  It sure has been cold here!!  I felt crafty the other night with my friend, we were trying to make cards completely out of scraps.  Here's what I created that night...

This valentine was made using the Unity December 2013 KOM.  Great card layout to use those scraps!!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards!!  Feel free to leave a message!!

First Unity FWF 2014

Welcome to 2014!  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog!  I've been battling a cold all week, but I was able to throw this card together using one of my new Unity stamps.

Who knows where this path will take us but let's go forth hand in hand & promise not to let go because it may lead us somewhere vast & amazing.
