Keep Calm

I'm back for this week's FWF from Unity Stamps.  One of my good friends is turning 30 today, so I made him a birthday card using one of my favorite Itty Bitty stamp!  Keep calm and have a beer!!

My coloring leaves a lot to be desired (I don't really have true markers) but I'm sure he'll like the card just the same.  Thanks for stopping by!

  4. This is a great guy card! I'm sure he'll love it and wouldn't understand your statement about not having "true markers!" It's a big financial commitment to buy Copics, Spectrum Noir or even TH Distress markers, so you should play with the cheaper ones until you are sure it's something you want to invest in. American Crafts just came out with more reasonably priced alcohol markers. They look easier to use too-not near as many shades.

    1. I keep going back and forth as to whether or not to invest in them. I really LOVE looking at other people's coloring, but I'm not sure I have the patience to do it with regularity. I almost bought a Copic yesterday JUST for this card, and I still may do that. I'm just not ready to dive into that money pit just yet. For now I'll use what I have (who would have thought I would ever say that!?!?!)...

    2. I know what you are saying. It's a big expense even using a coupon at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. I have broken down and bought a couple of the 3 or 6 pack sets. My problem is I think my coloring should like these very talented ladies since I'm using a COPIC marker. It doesn't. (-: But I will continue to practice but not buy anymore. Think I do better with the colored or watercolor pencils. Have you tried those? Very cute lovely colored card.

  7. What a fantabulous card! I totally get your remark about the true markers. I finally bit the bullet a few months ago and purchased Spectrum Noir markers. I'm glad I did. (plus AC Moore is selling them 1/2 price for the original sets. Worked for me!) LOL! Not sure what markers you have, but the one you used for the beer is a perfect amber color! Your friend is gonna love your card!

  9. Your card is great! I was like you and finally bought the Spectrum Noir marker sets a few months ago. Now IS a good time to get them, as they are phasing out the old design (marker model) and bringing in the new. Refills colors are the same for both. Can't beat $4.99 for 6 markers... they do the job for me! Hope your friend had a fabulous birthday, I'm sure they'll love the card!
