OWH Sketch Challenge #206

I decided to try to use more sketches in my card making, to liven things up a little bit.  I discovered a sketch challenge on Operation Write Home and decided to try it out.  Here's what I came up with.

I also made this card entirely out of scraps.  It's a new year's resolution of mine to try as use up as much stuff this year before I allow myself to buy more.  I see myself using a lot more scraps to make similar cards.  This was super easy and I like the way it turned out!  Thanks for looking!

If kisses were like snowflakes...

I'd send you a blizzard!  Brrrr!!  It sure has been cold here!!  I felt crafty the other night with my friend, we were trying to make cards completely out of scraps.  Here's what I created that night...

This valentine was made using the Unity December 2013 KOM.  Great card layout to use those scraps!!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards!!  Feel free to leave a message!!

First Unity FWF 2014

Welcome to 2014!  Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog!  I've been battling a cold all week, but I was able to throw this card together using one of my new Unity stamps.

Who knows where this path will take us but let's go forth hand in hand & promise not to let go because it may lead us somewhere vast & amazing.

Unity Fun Time!!

I have missed Unity's FWF for several weeks now, which means I have not done a blog post either (in almost a month!!), so I decided it was time to post some of my newer creations.  I hope you enjoy!

The first card is made with one of my favorite designer papers.  I used this striped paper as often as I can!  I just love the colors in it!  I used my Cuttlebug to cut out the border (it's actually a Spellbinders edge die that I turn around to create a border).  I wove silver ribbon through the holes.  The sentiment, pearls, and ribbon are all silver.  Creates a simple look.
Both birthday stamps come from Unity (shocker!) and they are from the Party All Day set, which is quickly becoming one of my favorites!!  I always need more birthday stamps!

This card was created using paper that I got at a swap and the Unity December 2013 KOM.  "we've got good chemistry".  I think that next time I might do the hearts in a different color, but I like the simplicity that the all silver has to offer.

This card was also made using the Unity December 2013 KOM (thanks to my awesome husband for getting me the subscription for my birthday!).  The verse and sentiment are both heat embossed with an iridescent powder.  It's very difficult to see in the picture but really has a cool effect in real life.  The bling is from Darice.

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my cards!  Hope you enjoyed!

Keep Calm

I'm back for this week's FWF from Unity Stamps.  One of my good friends is turning 30 today, so I made him a birthday card using one of my favorite Itty Bitty stamp!  Keep calm and have a beer!!

My coloring leaves a lot to be desired (I don't really have true markers) but I'm sure he'll like the card just the same.  Thanks for stopping by!

FWF Unity Stamps

Another week has gone by and it's time for Friends with Flair yet again!  This week I have chosen to use one of my favorite itty bitties!  Using emboss resist is my new technique I've been trying.  This card just turned out so happy! Thanks for stopping by!

Emboss Resist

I tried out a new technique today, emboss resist.  In white, you heat emboss a stamp onto white paper and then ink over the images to create a background.  Then you wipe clean the white embossing (the raised embossing resists the ink).  Ta-da!
Hi There card.  Made with butterflies.  Teal and blue with a purple card.
Get Well Soon! in pink and purple.  Dark purple card.

The last 2 are very similar, but I inked the background a little bit different.  Hope you enjoyed!  I had fun making these.
